Start by preparing the chicken wings. If they are whole, separate them into wingettes and drumettes. You can also remove the wing tips if desired.
In a small bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce and honey until well combined.
Place the chicken wings in the slow cooker, arranging them in a single layer if possible.
Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the chicken wings, making sure they are evenly coated.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 4-5 hours, or on high heat for 2-3 hours, until the chicken wings are cooked through and tender. You can also check the internal temperature of the wings, which should reach 165°F (74°C) to ensure they are fully cooked.
Once the wings are done, you can optionally broil them in the oven for a few minutes to crisp up the skin. Simply transfer the wings to a baking sheet lined with foil, brush with additional sauce from the slow cooker if desired, and broil on high for 3-5 minutes until golden and crispy.
