Baking this is the key to my husband’s heart; he can’t resist it
Directions
1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to the package instructions. Use a 9×13 inch baking dish and bake as directed.
2. Once the cake is baked and still warm, use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk. Pour this mixture evenly over the cake, making sure it gets into the holes.
4. Sprinkle the chopped Snickers bars over the cake, pressing them lightly into the top.
5. Allow the cake to cool completely, then spread the whipped topping over the entire cake.
6. Sprinkle chopped peanuts on top, and drizzle with chocolate syrup. Add more snickers if desired.
7. Refrigerate the cake for at least one hour before serving to let the flavors meld together.
Variations & Tips
For a fun twist on this classic, try using different types of candy bars based on what your family enjoys. You can also swap out the peanuts for pecans or almonds if you prefer a different kind of nutty crunch. For those looking to cut down on sugar, consider using sugar-free caramel sauce and low-fat whipped topping.
